Editorial policy
What you can rely on when you read a guide, an analysis or a blog post here, and what you should not assume.
Who writes this
Articles are published by the Milewell team. We do not show individual author names or credentials, because none have been verified for publication yet. We will not invent them. When named authors and reviewers exist, their names, roles and credentials will appear on their articles and on a team page.
Right now, articles are published on the approval of the site owner, who is not a credentialed coach or clinician. That approval is not a coaching or medical review, and no article here should be read as one.
What every article is based on
- Engine basis. Many articles explain or analyze how our own planning engine behaves. Those state that their claims come from the engine's published rules and outputs, and figures are generated from the engine at build time.
- Cited sources. Any other factual claim needs a source listed on the article with its publisher, the date we read it and the claim it supports. We do not invent studies, quotations, experts or statistics.
- General advice is labeled. Passages that are common training guidance rather than engine output are marked "General advice". They are not backed by cited studies and are not medical advice.
- No claims that need scientific evidence without it. We do not claim that something prevents injury or improves performance unless we cite a source. Where our planner uses a rule of thumb, we say it is a heuristic.
How AI tools are used
We use AI writing tools to help draft and edit articles. They are never a source of facts, statistics or citations. A person decides what is published, and every article's claims are checked against the engine or a cited source before it goes live. The planning engine itself contains no AI: it is a rule-based program.
Health topics
Articles about injuries, pain, nutrition, medical conditions or similar topics need review by a credentialed professional with a verifiable name, qualification and public profile before they can be published. We have no such reviewer yet, so those articles stay unpublished. Our site enforces this: a health article cannot be published without a named, credentialed reviewer recorded in it.
Dates
- Published is when an article first went live.
- Updated changes only when the content materially changes.
- Checked is the last time its claims were verified against the engine or its sources, even if nothing changed.
Articles that include figures from the engine are regenerated whenever the site is rebuilt, so they follow the engine's current rules.
Corrections
If we find an error we will fix it and, for a material correction, note it on the article. We do not yet have a public contact channel for reports. When we do, it will be listed here.
Independence
There is no advertising or affiliate marketing on this site, and nothing here is sponsored. Articles link to our own tools and plans because they are what the articles are about.
